Carol Ferguson was one of the first patients to benefit from Gwinnett Biomedical Research’s services since it opened in 2010. Having suffered from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) himself, Carol not only wanted to continue his treatment of the condition but also help others with COPD, so he was pleased to have the opportunity to participate in a drug study at the Gwinnett facility. Throughout the clinical research study, Carol not only learned more about COPD but also discovered new approaches to better control his own symptoms. Carol is currently overseeing the construction of a new water treatment facility near Gwinnett, one of the largest of its kind in the country. When Carol is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and leading Bible study classes.
